A new LEED online scoring tool for green homes has been launched. The new online scoring system is a web-based application offering a better understanding of how LEED for homes rating can be used and ensuring users how they can incorporate, early in their design, elements that will score points under LEED for Homes.
Using this LEED scoring tool, the system breaks down into a quick score path or a credit by credit path. The purpose of this online simple tool is to provide an insight and attract new professionals to achieve LEED ratings for their projects by demonstrating that the certification is closer than expected.
One of the system main priority is to attract new professionals who are not familiar with LEED concept, exploring and answering general questions about green building. Another useful tool of the system is that you can create multiple variations of the same project and compare it to see how it ranks.
The Quick Score path will provide a list of items needed to be addressed to approach LEED certification. The Credit by Credit path will calculate the points for each category, leading to a checklist where you can ensure that minimum requirements are met. The credit by credit path will require you to input the specified purpose of each item that has been incorporated in the design and will generate the credit for each one of these items.
