An innovative solution has been presented by Bostitch Engineering to use in area were unfavorable conditions might be encountered. The HurriQuake nails for use in structures that are at risk of natural hazard loadings including high wind and seismic events. The HurriQuake nail design improves wood-frame building performance through improved fastening. The HurriQuake nails have an oversized head to resist nail-head pull through with wood sheathing. The shank has two deformations that improve withdrawal resistance and sheathing slip.

The HurriQuake nails are recommended for use as framing nails and for sheathing fastening including shear walls, diaphragms, and roofs in wood-frame construction through ER120 where compliance is shown for IBC, IRC, SSTD-10, California Building Code, and the Florida Building Code. ER120 is available at bostitch.com under the 'Building Code Reports' area.

Let's hear about your experience with this product. Have you used it before? Tell us about its performance?
