American Jobs Act
The American Jobs Act is the new proposal directed to stimulate new jobs and provide tax relief to construction companies. However, the direct effect of the proposal on the construction industry should be the creation of employment opportunities, a problem that it is not definitely addressed under the American Job Act. The principles of the American Job Act are:- Modernize at least 35,000 public schools across the country,
- Modernizing roads, rail, airports and waterways
- Offer a $4,000 tax credit to employers for hiring long-term unemployed workers.
- Completely eliminate payroll taxes for firms that increase their payroll by adding new workers
- Leverage private and public capital and to invest in a broad range of infrastructure projects
The governmental funds aimed to improve decaying schools will be applied for emergency repair and renovation projects; greening and energy efficiency upgrades; asbestos abatement and asbestos removal. The US school system has not received attention over the last years and demands hundreds of billions of improvements. There is one really big question for the government; where will the Money Come From?
