Construction on the world's largest indoor arena has begun in Manila, at Ciudad de Victoria, Philippines. Designed by architectural firm Populous, a Kansas City-based global mega-architecture firm, the world's largest arena will accommodate more than 50,000 spectators and will be completed by 2014. The contract amount for this spectacular venue has been set to $214 million dollars.
Populous designed the arena in conjunction with engineers Buro Happold, and the general contractor is Hanwha Engineering and Construction Corp. The interior of this amazing dome structure will hold 50,000 people while the plaza outside the building will allow an additional 50,000 people, This project is funded entirely by the national religion, and will be used as a sport, concert and religious venue.
