World's Longest Floating Bridge: Gets Its Own Mobile App
A new 'decision maker' app is being promoted under a beta program to help you decide whether use the SR-520 or transit through alternate routes. Starting this December this new mobile app will use information on electronic tolling on the World's Longest Floating Bridge. This new app claims it will help you 'find out what bridge is faster or cheaper in less than 10 seconds.'
The SR 520 Bridge Replacement and HOV Program will enhance safety by replacing the aging floating bridge and keep the region moving with vital transit and roadway improvements throughout the corridor. The WSDOT along with Kiewit-General are building a casting yard facility in Aberdeen, where pontoon construction will be prepared. Crews will build 33 pontoons, 21 of which at 360 feet long, 75 feet wide, and nearly 30 feet tall to be used on the replacement of the SR 520 Bridge. Photo By Debs (0__0)
