Pierre Cardin, world famous fashion designer plans to develop a new Venice landmark: The First Skyscrapper. The idea of this skyscrappper rising more than 800 feet high is still being analyzed by the famous designer and will contain three futuristic towers linked with six discs. The skyscrapper, which could be Venice's first skyscrapper, will have 60 stories, a fashion learning institution, shops, hotels, and restaurants. The envision of this project also contains photovoltaic modules to produce energy among other renewable energy systems that will contribute to be a zero-carbon building. The $2.6 billion project is facing tough opposition from local leaders as the building might require foundations deep enough that might reach and break the aquifer and would compromise Venice water levels.
