Four of the World's best architects are engaged in a non-prize competition, that will eventually generate more than $10 million in construction commission. The competition to select the firm that will be in charge to build James Packer's $1 billion six-star Crown Sydney resort at Barangaroo is on the final stages. At least three of the four shortlisted firms, have toured the site while the remaining one will soon be there to complete their assessment on the project location. The projects is expected to start construction during 2014 once planning approval is granted. Crown is uniquely positioned to design, construct and manage a world class, six star hotel resort, which incorporates VIP only gaming facilities, at Barangaroo South, Sydney. The four contending firms include Adrian Smith + Gill Architecture, Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates, Renzo Piano and Wilkinson Eyre Architects.
