A new RFP has been issued for the construction of a convention hotel at the Kentucky Exposition Center. This will be the second time that the RFP is released, as the first time only draw one response and the process was canceled. The new RFP is very attractive to hotel developers as they are able to request the maximum amount of state tourism tax credits. The project consists of building a 600 room hotel to be build near Gate One, and be part of the redeveloping plan that also includes the reopening of the Kentucky Kingdom amusement park. The RFP must be answered by March 4 and the construction budget should be around $100 million.
