Definition: A board foot is a unit of measurement used for wood and similar products. It is equal to 12 inches wide, 12 inches long, and one inch thick. A unit 12 inches long, 12 inches wide, and 3 inches thick would equal three board feet; a unit 12 inches long, 24 inches wide, and 1 inch thick would equal two board feet.
