Definition: Despite the name, an ironworker's primary material is steel. At a job site, iron workers move, position and connect steel columns, beams, and girders for structural use.

Ornamental Ironworkers install stairs, curtain walls, and other non structural ornamental items after the buildings' structure has been completed.
