Where to find an architect?

By , About.com Guide

Looking forward to find an architect is a very difficult task. Although, some of us will ask for recommendation within our friends and colleagues, others will want to try and look for different alternatives. Here we present a list of several directories where you can start searching for your architect.

1. The American Institue of Architects

Use the AIA Architect Finder to locate architecture firms in your area. You can search by city, state, ZIP code and surrounding area (U.S. ZIP codes only), or by firm name. Use the three-character ISO country code box to locate international firms.

2. Royal Institue of British Architects

Use the RIBA to search among British architects, their specialty area and also look for a suggestion on architects to use depending on your required specialty and needs.

3. Japan Insitute of Architects

The Japan Institute of Architects is the place where you want to search for Japanese architects for your projects. The above link gets you to a full Japanese web page.
