Earth Day 2011
April 22, 2011: Earth Day. Throughout the world, Earth Day will be celebrated by contractors, engineers, architects and construction professionals. There will be several activities planned all over the world and from different organizations to create consciousness about the conservation of our natural and environmental resources. Earth Day was first celebrated in the US on 1970, and twenty years later, Earth Day was launched as an international event.
AGC Earth Day
The Association of General Contractors will be celebrating a roundtable about sustainable practices and environmental-friendly techniques that achieves efficiency and greener building performance. This activity will be celebrated on Thursday April 21, in Washington, D.C.
AGC will partner with the National Building Museum in Washington, D.C. to present a roundtable conversation about the best techniques and practices for improving the efficiency and environmental performance of our built environment.
EPA Earth Day
The Environmental Protection Agency will be hosting Earth Day activities on Washington, D.C. However, EPA will be celebrating several Earth Day activities, the 7th Annual National Sustainable Design Expo will be held during April 15 - 17, 2011, National Mall between 4th and 7th Streets, Washington DC. This expo will present numerous exhibitions and products directed to help and protect our environment. EPA will be holding other activities throughout the nation. Earth Day 2011
There is another campaign being promoted by the largest environmental service campaign in the world, A Billion Acts of Green®. This campaign promotes the activities from individuals, corporations, and governments in honor of Earth Day. The goal is to register, by clicking here, one billion before the Earth Summit in Rio in 2012.
2011 Green California Summit & Expo
Days before the Earth Day 2011, the Green California Summit and Expo will take place. This activity will be hosted at the Sacramento Convention Center, from April 18-20, Convention Center. April 18 is a pre-Summit day with in-depth full-day workshops and other special events. April 19 & 20 are the Summit and Expo dates. For information and to register, click here.
